Officer Nomination/Volunteer and Election Process
We are coming up to the Annual General meeting for the Fukuoka Chapter of JALT and, as always, all the officer positions are up for renewal or replacement. This year we are particularly hoping that we can find people to assist and eventually take over the duties of the Publicity Chair and Finance Chair.
Assisting with the role of Publicity Chair is a great opportunity to learn about managing social media professionally from a veteran. Our current chair, Bill Pellowe has been involved in the online social environment since its very beginning and he is also currently Director of Public Relations for JALT National.
Tim Pritchard, our Finance Officer, has been in the position for a number of years along with the same role for his SIG. He would like to lessen that workload and ensure that his know-how is shared. This might be of particular use to someone involved in small business management.
The other positions of President, Programme Chair and Membership are open to be contested and we would ideally like to get into a state where we had assistant chairs for every position that could take over on a rotating basis.
